The following is an honest review of Insomnia by Sarah Pinborough and my suggested age rating.
Emma has the picture perfect life: a legal career, a supportive husband, and a loving son and daughter. There are parts of her life that she’d rather stay hidden, mostly the part about her mother going insane when she turned 40.
As Emma approaches her own 40th birthday she starts feeling paranoid, having weird ticks, and losing the ability to sleep at night; all things her mom experienced before she went crazy. Despite how desperate Emma is to keep her life together, she can’t help but feel she may be destined for craziness too.
Review of Insomnia
Despite seeing the Netflix adaptation of Behind her Eyes this is my first book to read by Sarah Pinborough. Although this book is a little slow at first to set the storyline, it is definitely full speed ahead about halfway through! As the reader you aren’t sure what or who to believe which I absolutely love! This book kept me guessing until the very end and had multiple lot twists. If you’re looking for a book you can’t put down I highly recommend you pick this up! I’ll definitely be checking out more of her books soon as well!
Age Rating of Insomnia
I’m giving Insomnia an Age Rating of 17 and up. Insomnia contains language, alcohol, drugs, paranormal activity, an affair, etc.
