The following is an honest review of American Royals by Katherine McGee and my suggested age rating.
Synopsis of American Royals
Imagine America had a royal family. The Washington’s are still on the throne two and a half century’s later but times are changing. Princess Beatrice is first in line for the throne. Princess Samantha is second and her twin brother Prince Jefferson is third. Prince Jefferson would be first but the laws have changed, and when it’s time, Princess Beatrice will serve as America’s first queen regnant. However, just cause laws have changed doesn’t mean everything has. Life as a royal is nothing short of tiring full of drama and backstabbing, with people who want to be together but can’t and people that just want the crown.
Review of American Royals
I read this book SO QUICK! This was the perfect book for me, I read The Selection trilogy in March and have been hoping to find something with the same vibe ever since. THIS WAS IT. The drama, gossip, scandal, I was hooked by the first chapter.
You can’t help but feel bad even for the characters you hate most. Even Daphne EW. I have never hated a character so much and felt sorry for her at the same time.
I know this is a pretty well known series but if you haven’t read this yet YOU NEED TO. The third book in the series titled Rivals comes out May 31st so binge read the series!
I rated this book 5 stars on Goodreads.
