The following is an honest review of The Last Legacy by Adrienne Young and my suggested age rating.
Synopsis of The Last Legacy
On Bryn Roth’s eighteenth birthday she receives a letter from her Uncle Henrik summoning her to Bastian to join the family business. Bryn goes willingly but doesn’t forget that being in this dirty business is what got her parents killed. Henrik wants more from Bryn than she can give and she must decide what’s most important to her. With a forbidden romance, crimes, and a tea shop, Bryn must navigate her new life.
Review of The Last Legacy
Oh. My. Gosh.
I am probably Adrienne Young’s biggest fan but everyone has to read this. Adrienne Young’s writing is effortlessly atmospheric. This book was equally plot and character driven which I loved.
Bryn’s character grows and changes throughout the novel. She starts as this eighteen year old girl in a new place and comes into her own. Bryn and Ezra. Ezra is the love interest in The Last Legacy and I love his character so much. I don’t want to say much about him cause you kinda have to figure him out and it’s part of the plot. But if you are going to read this watch, out for him.
The crime and family heist atmosphere gave me Six of Crows vibes except it’s a family of course. But as far as navigating the city and knowing how to get what they want… strong Crows vibes.
I gave The Last Legacy 5/5 stars on Goodreads.
Age Rating of The Last Legacy
I am giving The Last Legacy an Age Rating of 13 and up. There is mild language, romance, and violence. Trigger Warning: one scene someone is physically abused as punishment.
